A beautiful portrayal of grief and the complexities of the relationships between sisters.

This book follows Avery, Bonnie and Lucky following the death of their sister Nicky. We follow each of them, in individual chapters, as they process their grief.

At their core all of the sisters are very different, as are the ways they grieve Nicky, but all of them are relatable in their own way.

In addition to exploring grief the themes of generational trauma, addiction, sexuality and fear are explored.

This book had me crying, raging and laughing but I was so relieved to see each of the characters get the ending they deserved (and not in an open ended way that is so common in literary fiction).

I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys exploring the complexities of human relationships and emotions.
