My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite

4.75

this book is sharp. the combination of it’s short vignettes and violent subject matter make it easy to devour (or be devoured). the skill in which braithwaite writes the dynamic between korede and ayoola is breathtaking, as she captures the complex layers of trauma, resentment, and love with controlled brevity.

and, y’know what? i loved the ending too. not sure if that’s an unpopular opinion, but that’s exactly how the story (with all the information we were given) needed to conclude.

tbh i was kind of rooting for ayoola to take out tade. sorry man.
great book!
