Unlike me to read a noir, but I am particular to Bob Mortimer's sweet kind of madness. The mystery itself is window dressing, really - the characters, imagined dialogue with squirrels, and Mortimer's slightly surreal imagination are the stars of the show. This is another one worth listening to on audiobook, narrated by Mortimer and Sally Phillips. Have a cup of tea and slice of Battenberg with it.
