hogsqueal 's review for:
Normal Women
by Ainslie Hogarth
I found the parallels of motherhood to sex work very interesting. overall, very thought-provoking and somewhat a good satire on womanhood and women's roles but it just came across as very "woo white girlboss feminism" that I had to roll my eyes...like was the main character so disillusioned bc of her societal status OR was she an unreliable narrator OR was it all just satire? I couldn't tell and I got bored trying to figure it out...anyways sex work is a bad thing where no woman could ever possibly win and so is being a mother amen
