Fake dating at its finest

I loved this latest installment of the Rosewood River Series. Lulu was introduced in book 1 and is staying in Rosewood River for a few months before she moves to Paris for her business. Rafe is having his home renovated and moves into the guest house on the property Lulu is renting. After an accidental throat punch meet-cute, they continue to cross paths and really bring out the feisty side of each other. Their interactions are funny and filled with sexual tension, along with being slightly detrimental to Rafe’s health. Lulu is trying to separate herself from the circus that comes with her boy band ex. Rafe is trying to avoid the advances of his boss’s daughter. Bring on the fake dating with an expiration date.
The lines between fake and real get blurry very quickly and it’s a fun ride to witness. I enjoyed the push and pull between these two. Lulu is fierce, funny and loves hard. Rafe is a dream when he falls first and levels with Lulu. He’s protective, thoughtful and romantic and might be my favorite Chadwick brother (so far).
The narration just kicks this already terrific story up a notch. Sean Masters and Vanessa Edwin were fantastic. Sean’s soothing deep tones as Rafe were perfect. Vanessa managed to give us Lulu’s sass, humor and fierceness.
Wonderful characters you just want to see more of, text message threads that had me laughing out loud, small town charm with big family dynamics and a fascination with pickleball that I never expected, are just a few things I love about this series. I can’t wait for the next installment.
