The Dangerous Alphabet by Neil Gaiman

5.0

A storybook for someone who hopefully already knows the alphabet, because the narrative and art will surely distract anyone from paying attention to the letters’ order. I missed the “dangerous flaw” myself! Gaiman’s story is a delightful adventure that could spook some, especially coupled with the striking illustrative style of Gris Grimly. The artwork reminds me greatly of Tim Burton’s movies with The Nightmare Before Christmas the first to come to mind. I will be seeking out more work by both collaborators. Already I planned to read more Gaiman books, but now I also want to see more of Grimly’s art.
