This is by far the lowest I have ever rated a SK book. I found that although his writing is immersive and full of descriptions that it was full of so much extra stuff that added nothing to the story and long just for the hell of it. The last 300 pages or so were a slog. I barely finished it. Things like the child orgy, baby murder and the most excessive use of the N word I have ever read were just unnecessary and gross. It also felt like he hit a wall after the kids enter the portion where they'd finally meet IT and just threw up words. Like where did the turtle come from? I'm lost. I'm annoyed. And I'm glad it's over.
