The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

4.0

This book was truly magical — the atmosphere, the tone, the descriptions… all gorgeous and captivating. I can't remember the last time I read something this well written and full of passion.

I must mention, though, that the plot is rather slow moving and the intertwining timelines were a bit confusing. Moreover, since the main characters (Celia and Marco) know very little about their challenge, the reader is equally kept in the dark, a sensation that I didn't enjoy and that made me feel like I was missing something. Likewise, their love story was underdeveloped, so this all seemed an excuse to write about a magical circus.

Oh, the circus! So enchanting, so beautiful… I loved the aesthetics of it and as I read these pages, I really felt I was there.
