A Shadow in the Ember by Jennifer L. Armentrout

4.0

This series beats the sequel FBAA.
The character progression is more dynamic and it could be due to a lot of the world being created already in the sequel that came out previously.
It just felt like in the follow up books for FBAA we spent a lot of time hearing about Poppy using her wind to level trees while casteel is locked up.
This series continuously moves through the world and character’s past, present and future challenges to develop them into who they will become together.

Is Sera a little annoying with her need to constantly push Ash away? Sure.
Is Ash’s avoidant ass annoying? Sure.
Do I love them? Absolutely
