I appreciate Mockingjay more now than I did as a teenager. When I first read it I thought it was gratuitously violent, like over-the-top. Now I think it makes sense in the context of a novel about war and unambiguously against war crimes. I appreciate the relentless moral dilemmas Katniss faces and the reality of District 13 dismantles the utopian vision of the rebellion in books 1 & 2.
