3.0

I loved ‘Amsterdam’ so much and that was the first time I read something by Ian McEwan then mum gave me this one and I was expecting to race through it in the same way. Especially because it’s like set in the time span of 24hrs so I thought it was going to be well paced but I just didn’t really find that. OBVIOUSLY he’s an amazing writer of course but it was just quite a lot of points of really heavy detail about how the brain works and that didn’t really get me going. Towards the end it was a lot better, and I also liked the personalities of the kids in the book so that’s something. But yeah not groundbreaking in my 2024 reads so far
