It covers plotholes beautifully and, although not canon, helps understand the canon events. The book does justice to DIO's personality, allowing the fans to have a deeper analysis of him while not making him look any softer. Despite showing the reader a different side of the villain, one that makes it easy to find oneself almost sympathising with, it does not provide him with any romanticised frivolous emotion. It is also very accurate, although perhaps unconsciously, to the medical diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder, making it even more convincing. All in all, a feast for the eyes and mind of Jojo (but most specifically DIO's) fans.
My biggest critique (or simply wish) has to do with the translation. I wish someone else would try to translate it again. I found it hard to understand what was being implied at times.
