What I Liked: This was okay. It was a quick read and I think there were some fun ideas in this. The set up between the two characters, Jenna and Alex, was quite fun and I liked how it played out. The sex was mostly well-written and I thought they had good chemistry.
What I Didn’t: I just think it wasn’t the right story for a novella. The whole thing felt rushed, particularly the sex - specifically the type of sex they were having.

I wasn’t keen on how quickly Alex began doing things like spanking her, especially not without talking it through first. It was just very rushed. There was no discussion about the BDSM elemenets, no use of safe words, and given the fact she hadn’t had sex before, it just all felt too heavy too quickly. I understand this is necessitated by the book being a novella, so some corners had to be cut, but I think this would have suited being a longer piece. Likewise, the ending was very simplistic and blunt.

Overall: I liked the idea of this and the dynamic between Alex and Jenna, but it was just missing something for me. It all felt a bit rushed. That said, it was a very quick read and was fine for what it was.
Would I Recommend It?: Yes, if you’re looking for a mafia romance with mutual pining, some forbidden romance, and some BDSM elements and daddy kink.
Would I Read Something By The Author Again?: Yes.
