Luckily, book 3 prepared me for the fact that this book may have little to no connection to the rest. And it doesn't. I'm not even convinced you have to read book 3 to read this one simply because so little time is spent with the Clayarks.

But, as a stand-alone story I enjoyed it. It just happened to take part in a universe that three other books I'd read had also taken place in. It's another story of strong-willed people having to think their way out of a tough situation. Those are usually pretty fun.
