Another hit from horror’s rising star, Andrew Joseph White. White manages to deftly weave gore, history, and the desire for a better society into roughly 400 pages while still making sure you enjoy the ride. This book could not have come at a better time and today’s political climate really plays into the atmosphere while reading it. The only reason this isn’t getting a full five stars is because I’m still not sure how the main families know each other, or the logistics of how they were involved with the car crash. Overall, a great read full of twists and turns that I never wanted to put down.
