Breakable by Tammara Webber
5.0

FIRST IMPRESSION:: Landon in a hospital bed ... after. It was as awful as can be expected. I was not immune to cries for his mother; almost brought tears to my eyes in just a few sentences.

THE STORY:: It was pretty much a given that I was going to at least partially love this story. i loved Lucas/Landon in Easy, as well as Jacqueline, and Webber's storytelling. Never mind the fact that seeing everything unfold from a male's perspective offers a new dimension to aspect of the story. That said, I think that this book was amazing all on it's own. It was not just a retelling, but revealed who Landon was at the core as well as why he needed to become Lucas. And I ... I pretty much fell for all three of his personalities equally -- teenage Landon, adult Landon and adult Lucas. All three combine into one fascinating man. Swoon!

Regarding the retelling, I love that Landon didn't fall for Jacqueline instantly. That it wasn't her beauty that he noticed that intrigued him, but his passion calling to hers. His love of art sharpened his attention to detail which helped him discern that her seemingly nervous habit of tapping her fingers wants as it seemed, but her playing music. I love that he had enough dimension not to just fall. But to really see her. He noticed how Kennedy treated her like an ornament and saw her little quirks. He got to know her before even speaking with her.

FINAL THOUGHTS:: I could go on and on an explain why I loved this story. But it wouldn't do it justice. Check out Easy and then check out Breakable. You won't be disappointed!

RECOMMENDED FOR:: If you're a fan of New Adult, you MUST read this series. It's such a beautiful story, equally so from both Jacqueline's and Lucas' perspectives.

MY THOUGHTS ON THE AUDIOBOOK:: Zachary was amazing. He got every nuance right. The strength, the vulnerability, the love, the loss and the pain that Lucas and Landon endured. I've already got another of his audiobooks in queue.
