slowreaderpeter 's review for:
Dune
by Frank Herbert
This book is undeniably well-written. For the most part I can completely understand why it is such a titan in the science fiction genre. It is engrossing, highly detailed, and incredibly dense with some phenomenal world building. It feels epic.
And yet the last 100 pages or so were immensely unsatisfying. Most of that felt somewhat lazy, or perhaps just rushed. What it was building towards never really happened, and the final climax made no real sense, emotionally.
