This review won't amount to much, as I'm still processing this book. Suffice it to say that I really enjoyed it, and I understand its place in the larger sci-fi pantheon. As a newcomer to sci-fi, I read this one mostly out of a compulsion to understand the origins of the genre and the early works that shaped it. It's a solid narrative with lots of big ideas cramped into very little real estate. I guess the only thing I really missed was outright sci-fi action, gadgets, etc. Everything is very vague in its description, and some concepts beg for more exploration. Still, a fun and fascinating read.
