I think I need a break from Murakami. What started as a love has melded into an almost detest. His male protagonists tend to be so irregular they become unbelievable. After the great disappointment with Colorless, I don’t know what my opinion ought to be on his writing. He is no doubt creative, but is that enough to overcome his detrimental character building (specifically based on the character’s sex)?
I hope to read more Murakami, just in the distant future. I probably should read this one again. The third act saved it from a lower score.
