The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

Having rewatched the movie recently, and now having read this, Frodo suddenly appeals to me in a way that he never had before. I'd always been all about Sam and Legolas and Gandalf—the overt heroes. But Frodo, for some reason, really sticks out to me now, especially in the book, with his quiet courage and his selfless endurance. I had the same epiphany while rereading Harry Potter, when to my surprise Harry was my new favorite character (after many years of feeling complete ambivalence toward him). They really do make the perfect heroes.
