Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust by Immaculée Ilibagiza

5.0

This is the true story of Immaculee Ilibagiza who was 24-year-old Rwandan college student in 1994 when the horrendous genocide of Rwanda's ethnic Tutsi tribe was undertaken by the Hutu tribe. Before this three month holocaust was over, over one million Tutsis had been slaughtered including Imaculee's father, mother, and two of her three brothers. Immaculee herself survived by hiding in the tiny bathroom of a sympathetic Hutu pastor, with seven other women for over 91 days. Imaculee's incredible first-hand account of the terror she survived is riveting, as is her testimony of how her faith in God literally sustained and saved her. Hers is a story of faith, hope and forgiveness in the most terrible of times. This is an amazing book, with a profound and relevent message for all. Highly recommended!!!
