Emezi’s ideas and imagination fascinate me. I feel seen in their treatment of the plot and characters. I can feel that they know what c-PTSD does to a mind and body. 

I also dont think it’s a complete coincidence that I was able to stick with this book while my mind had refused to read for the last few months.

I may have rated this book low only because of my unrealistic expectations of them.
