Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway

4.0

The thing for me that holds me back from giving this book more stars is the amount of language in it. I am pretty tolerant as far as that is concerned in novels about high school kids- I know people think that is the way everyone that age talks- but my friends and I don't use foul language. At times I had to set the book down just to get away from the superfluous use of the f word. Really? Was it really necessary?

I enjoyed the growth of Audrey. The ending felt a little abrupt, but getting to it was such a pleasant journey that I didn't mind that much. I also appreciated the brains Audrey showed. She used PSAT words, stood by her decision to dump Evan (the first sentence tells you it happened so don't be mad about spoilers!) and was over all a very strong character. I really enjoyed the story this book had to tell.
