Mirror's Edge by Scott Westerfeld

Loved Scott Westerfeld's series back in middle school and this one just continues the trend. I'm always so blown away by Westerfeld's world-building. From surveillance dust to model citizen algorithms to Futurist media cults, Westerfeld is a master at building and inviting readers into a realistic, compelling world.

My only, only small nitpick here, is that the last few chapters felt a bit rushed and a little too chaotic for me. Of course, it's meant to be a rapid buildup, but it was sometimes challenging to follow from page-to-page. I'm also not a huge fan of plot reveals without context/foreshadowing.

That aside, this was a truly gripping read that will satisfy any Westerfeld fan. And his signature cliff hanger will leave anyone just wishing the next book was out already! My advice to eager readers? Read it slowly and savor it. It's gonna be a while before the next one.
