A Dog's Promise by W. Bruce Cameron

4.0

3.5 stars
The chapters don’t always end/start at logical points and the scenes change quite abruptly. Also, why did Bailey previously remember his former lives, but not anymore? But what’s more: I love stories about animals, especially when told by the animal itself, and I know that this series is about the purpose of a (good) dog, but why, why does it have to have so much sadness and death? I love Bailey but I must say I’m happy this is the last book in the series. I’ve cried enough!
The 3rd instalment in this series follows the adventures and hardships as also told in the first two instalments. There was not much new and therefore I was ready to give it 3 stars. The last 50 pages and Bruce's afterword convinced me to give it one more star.
