I have a theory that a book is going to be terrible when the characters insist on saying each other's full names ("Billy Kirby", "Nathaniel Bonner", etc), and this one proves me right (is the author trying to add to their word count or what?) I've heard it compared to "Outlander", but it is not even close to the same league of writing. The main characters were unlikable, I grimaced every single time he called her "Boots", and I just wasn't in the mood for damsel-in-distress fiction. Bah.
