The Woman in Me by Britney Spears

challenging dark emotional reflective medium-paced

4.25

When I first saw this on the shelf I was shocked by how small a book it is. I knew some things about Britney and her conservatorship, but not a lot, so I thought surely she can't capture all that terrible abuse and her whole life in such little time. Having finished it, this book sits heavy with me. It was incredibly hard to get through, because of how devastating so much of Britneys story is. She tells her story great, I feel like I know her and I'm upset and angry for all the time that was stolen from her, the abuse she endured, the time she spent away from her music and kids. I wish her all the best.
