Vicky Decker's best friend has moved away and she is left behind to deal with high school and her, at times crippling, social anxiety. In an attempt to regain her footing she creates an Instagram persona Vicurious which takes on a life of it's own & leaves Vicky struggling to integrate the two. Vicurious is amazing, channeling Vicky's despair into inclusion and understanding, changing the world with one act of kindness at a time. Through the support of group of friends that slowly form around Vicky she is able to face some of her fears, help her best friend in another state and begin to see a path forward for herself. A spectacularly uplifting novel that does not shy away from difficult topics.

I realize that I am dating myself here but it reads like The Breakfast Club for the Instagram age.

I would recommend this book to every 8th grader as a primer for High School, for Juniors & Seniors as a reminder, for guidance counselors because you do make a difference and to parents because it is a journey.

And to every kid who feels out of place, different or struggling with social, emotional or identity issues this is YOUR book.

And as a bookseller I cannot wait to put this in the hands of readers this August. Put this book on your "To Be Read" list!
