Artificial Condition by Martha Wells

I loved the new (asshole) bot that Murderbot meets, and I was so impressed that there were no human characters for the first half of this story and yet the story is still so character-focused. And then the second half of the story is full of action, but still keeps the character-focus. I would usually say I'm not a character-focused reader, but maybe the combo of character and concepts/action is what's working for me? Or maybe I'm just not a human-character-focused reader?
