It’s interesting because the blurb both is and is not accurate. Yes, this is about a guy with a massive chip on his shoulder and another guy who was an alien hostage for four years. But it’s also about trust and overcoming prejudices and sacrifice. And a bit (a lot) about not-magical-healing-cock but a magical-alien-telepathy-cock (think about Farscape translator microbes but in semen)! Yay!

There’s quite a bit to unpack here. In so many ways. And if left Questions that I hope will be answered in the next book but that I’m also pretty okay to be left unanswered.

Apparently some people have bounced back hard from Cam’s relationship with the Faceless bossman and I can understand why. I have, however, read enough eggpreg alienfucker fic to enjoy the ride, and the way Lisa does it makes sense. Is it creepy? Fuck yes. Is it abusive? …define abuse. Does an ant have a quarrel with a boot? To the Faceless, humans are subspecies barely above a fruit fly. They literally don’t care. We are nothing. And I kind of love that. Yes, the Borg are terrifying but they have their assimilation agenda. The Faceless don’t give a fuck.

As per usual Lisa style, this was easy, quick reading, quirky and snarky dialogue, and hot action.
