The Sisters by Claire Douglas

This is an intriguing book and has a lot of potential. Unfortunately I don't like a lot of inner-character questioning/dialogue and this book has it quite often. Also, I was not a fan of how the chapters were not labeled with which character was narrating. The first couple chapters are all from Abi's point of view, and then later it seems to switch just about every other chapter between Abi and Beatrice.

I didn't feel attached to the characters, because instead of developing characters- the first chapters are all inner dialogue. I actually just skipped to the last 30 or so pages and was okay reading the end. Sure there was a character that I didn't know, but I could guess.

The last straw for me that made me want to give just two stars for a review was the last page. Why does she introduce herself as Bea? I probably missed some small details in the huge middle section that I skipped. I thought the whole mystery of the plot was that Beatrice was in love with Ben. I don't know, and at this point I don't really care. It's the author's first book and it's noticeable.
