I listened to this as an audiobook, whichmay have swayed my opinion on this book. That being said, the production was very well done.
Butcher & Blackbird has a great premise, and I did enjoy the story. But for me, I wish it had gone farther, got grittier. I wish it had delved into the dark itch that Rowan and Sloan tried to scratch, how although they could act normal in their day-to-day lives, they are far from societal norms.
This book had funny moments. I like funny mixed with dark, but this wasn't a story with gallows humor. This was a rom com with some disturbing elements, at least in my humble opinion.
I might read the next one, but I'm not 100% sure.
