I bought Lines of Courage because it was at a great price at the book fair and it sounded interesting. I read it with my 9 year old daughter and she as shocked that she liked it after we read the first couple of chapters. Historical fiction, or history period, was a new genre for her. This takes us through the lives of 5 children/teens from very different places during WWI and how their lives will intertwine. My daughter and I were hooked. We were on edge, happy, scared, sad, excited…all the emotions that the characters go through. When we thought we knew what was happening, there was a great twist so the book wasn’t as predictable as it seemed. She was very disappointed that the story was over. Ok, I was too!
