Top notch! This goes full circle, connecting the past of some of her main characters (Will, Amanda) with the present. Gruesome murders, locations and a past come real in a gripping way. Reading a book like this you realize what a lot of other writers are missing in style. Detailed in a way only few others are (among them Val McDermid). For those who have never read a book from Karin Slaughter, I recommend the whole series, but the this one can also be read as a standalone-start as the most needed parts of the characters back story is given, sometimes expanded or even corrected.
I could have read it faster, often I read these books in 1-2 long nights till early morning, but I wanted to hold on a little longer, as a lot of books are not as good as this.
