“The air around them was heavy with more than just the scent of flowers and fire. Magic had settled over the dance floor, polishing the stars, gliding the night.”
Cinderella x The Little Mermaid are woven into this tale of mermaids, ocean, and magic. I was hooked 3% in and slowly savoured this read. I am obsessed with the ocean and writing that feels like it melts on your tongue though, so that’s to be expected.
The author combines such amazing touches to the original tales - like how it’s hurts Luce, our main character, to talk - just like how the original Little Mermaid hurt her to walk on her feet when she got her legs.
If you enjoy historical romance x fantasy, mermaids, the ocean, or magical fairytales I’d recommend giving this a try.
“Tears and salt. Sorrow and sea. There is magic in such meetings.”
