Academ's Fury by Jim Butcher

4.0

Really enjoyable second entry. Butcher has this odd mix of naive writing style and willingness to ruthlessly murder large swathes of his big casts of characters. This one peaks at almost exactly it's midpoint, then gets muddled for a while before coming together for a suitably epic conclusion. Butcher also has a special talent for planting intriguing seeds, and I'm excited to see how the next four books of the series unfold.
