I enjoyed this book, and I'm glad I was caught up on the New Millennium editions. It feels like a hinge point in the series; it definitely should not be read as a stand-alone book. The system of magical ethics is one of the things I like most about Diane Duane’s books, and the ethics felt more complicated in this book than the previous ones, which is I suppose what growing up is like.
