Vision in Silver by Anne Bishop

I think I get why some people rate this series lower, but it really works for me. I don't know why, but I love the slow, slow, SLOW burn of the plot in this series. It seems more natural than the non-stop action found in some other series. I think it also helps to not force the characters to be in situations they aren't suited for because it gives them the chance to mature into their roles.

I also appreciate the use of some very simple - yet often overlooked themes: the power of kindness, self-accountability, and teaching through example. Sure there's the theme of corrupt politics, but what I really enjoyed was that the characters make mistakes, get called out on it, and are not allowed to play the victim to get out of all responsibility.

Like all my reviews, these are just my random thoughts at the moment of finishing the book.
