Listened to this on audiobook. This wasn’t what I expected and I was pretty disappointed. However, I do appreciate this book for what it is. There was a comment on a review that talked about “hometown purgatory” and I think that pretty much encapsulates the focus of this book since 70% of it takes place in Mickey’s hometown and in her feelings. I was disappointed with Mickey’s lack of accountability and character development, but also think she showed what depression and burnout really look like.
