Where the Red Fern Grows
by Wilson Rawls
If I hadn't done the 2015 Pop Sugar challenge, I may have never read this book. This was the book my mom loves that she wanted me to read. I would have never picked it up based on the description. The story narrates a part of a young boy, Billy, and his life as he wants to get hunting dogs. He saves up the money for two years after finding a catalog with dogs and their prices and finally gets his dogs, Old Dan and Little Ann.
I did not expect to be so into this story. At times it got a little slow when the story was mostly about him hunting, but I didn't read it quickly, although it was a pretty easy read. You would be mistaken to not pick this book up and read it at one point in your life.
