Book Lovers by Emily Henry

5.0

One of the discussion questions at the end of this book is:
"What was the book that made you fall in love (or fall in love again) with reading?

For me, that book was Beach Read. It unlocked the whole romance genre for me and became a book that I recommended to others to try to show them that romance can be incredibly well written.

As such, reading Emily Henry always makes me reevaluate all the other books I've read recently. I read a lot of category romances and love just seeing a relationship unfold. But it's always nice to be reminded that romance novels can be a lot more than that.

Book Lovers is as fun and witty as Beach Read, and just as resonant. The stuff about self-worth, compromise and coping with change and grief all hit me.

It's always especially exposing to see a refrain from your recent life show up in a book; the idea that everything good will go away, but so will everything bad has been in my head a bit lately.

I devoured this in one day. It's really great.
