In this book, things took an unexpected turn, and I'm glad I stayed for it. Despite not feeling any click with the first book, I rather enjoyed it.

When a huge threat hangs over the town, the criminal haunting the streets seems to hold a personal grudge against Logan. Unsettled by the situation, Logan is determined to keep Lana out of harm's way. Little does he know, Lana is ever so restless to carry out her mission under his heavy guard. With every action, her secret is one step closer to being revealed.

The heavy suspense and anticipation of how the story would unravel made up for any other ways this book was lacking. The short chapters kept me invested right up to the very end, with an ending that leaves much to be desired in the next book of the series.
