Poor Deer
by Claire Oshetsky
Truly a magnificent novel, Poor Deer is a bitter read with any sweetness hidden between the cracks. There are of love and wonder that we see in Margret Murphy’s life, but they are few and far between. Despite that, it truly was a wonderful novel. An interesting look at grief and guilt and how the mind, especially of a child, internalizes and copes with that- especially in the less than ideal environment Margret is in.
