After reading the author’s note, the prose makes more sense. Only someone who has struggled with a mood disorder would be capable of capturing the racing thoughts of a character with a mood disorder. This story was real, raw, and honest.
This book is not for everyone. The plot is slow and fast and a little all over the place. But I think that’s the point of it all.
Come with an open mind and a general understanding that both characters are quite unwell. However, their love story is truly a prime example of what it feels like to feel nothing, then something, then everything all at once.
