I started this book by telling myself I just had to push through to finish the series. I found the beginning of the book lagged a bit. The pacing felt slower than expected, with some scenes feeling repetitive and not as gripping as they could have been. However, I will say that I’m glad I stuck with it—because the second half more than made up for it. The plot gains momentum, the stakes rise, and Auren's journey becomes even more compelling. The ending, in particular, hooked me completely and left me eager for the next book; needing to know how the series concluded.
Moderate: Death, War
