Murder in the Book Lover's Loft
by Ellery Adams
Overall I really enjoyed this book and it was really great to see Olivia Limoges pop up but I must admit I thought we would see the Bayside Book Writers, Charles Wade and Officer Cook who I thought would be the Sheriff.
When Edwin and Jane go for a much needed vacation to Oyster Bay, NC at the invitation of her friend Olivia Limoges for some rest and relaxation. Things start off rocky when they check into their cottage known as the Book Lover's Loft and find a skull and ominous message on the bathroom mirror. Then Edwin steps on sting rays and has to be rushed to the hospital but when she and Olivia come across the body of author Justin St. James Jane finds herself sleuthing on vacation. Justin St. James was not well liked by his fellow authors or Olivia for that matter which makes her a suspect and when it is discovered that his next book was about Storyton Hall Jane falls under the eyes of the police also even though Jane had no idea. Mr. St. James was know for taking the personal tragedies of his fellow authors and turning them into best selling books.
As always Ellery Adams crafts a great mystery with plenty of suspects and clues I loved how even before Jane leaves Storyton, VA a body in found on one of the trails which eventually leads to a connection between Oyster Bay and Storyton. The twists and turns were well done and I was fully invested in the story.
Can't wait for the next book in this series.
