What a way to end the first trilogy in The Realm of the Elderlings!

This instalment felt super long and tedious until I hit about 60% and then I couldn’t put it down. The pacing of this book feels so uneven; however, due to this book starting immediately after the second books end, I (to an extent) understand why this slow pacing was required.

As much of this book takes places outside of Buck, there was so much world building which I really enjoyed! Additionally, I loved being able to finally catch a glimpse at the Elderlings. I am so obsessed with Robin Hobb’s character work. She writes beautifully characters with deep and meaningful emotions that just really draw me in. She introduced several characters in this book that I grew to love alongside my favorites from the previous books.

I am so curious to see where she takes the next books!
