This is a YA thriller set in Sault Ste. Marie. I was really excited to find out the setting as my brother used to live there, and good friends lived there for decades before moving back here.
My friend has talked extensively about how bad the meth problem is in Sault Ste. Marie, so I love how this novel tackled this real life issue that the community is dealing with.
There are lots of fantastic elements included in this novel such as family secrets, hockey rep., female in STEM rep., forbidden romance element, cop/FBI procedural, loads of info surrounding the local indigenous culture, attention is also drawn to MMIW. I love how all these elements came together to create a cohesive storyline of realistic characters and scenarios.
