Unfortunately, this was one of those books where I really liked the story but didn't like the telling of it. Far too much tell not show and the heavy handed, obvious attempts at feminism by the main character really got on my wick. It's a shame as the story had such promise and it was nice to read an English supernatural crime story that wasn't set in London. Will I give the author a second chance with the next book in the series? I'm really not sure.
