Two Boys Kissing
by David Levithan
Despite what the summary tells you, this book is made up of a couple different stories. There's Harry and Craig, who are aiming to set the world record for kissing, Neil and Patrick, who have been dating for a while now, Avery and Ryan, who just met, and Cooper, who is lonely and sad.
Because I'm a sucker for fluff, my favorite of these was naturally Neil and Patrick's thread, which was sweet and exactly what I needed. I also enjoyed Cooper's plotline, which was incredibly depressing but realistically so. Harry and Craig were kind of interesting, and Avery and Ryan were downright boring, to be honest. It was such a love at first sight kind of thing that I had to gag.
Some of the comments are complaining about the narration, and while I wasn't a fan at first, the style grew on me, and by the end of the book I really liked it. The entire book is so quoteworthy, and more than once I was struck by the truth of some of the statements.
Overall, it was pretty slow, but short, bittersweet, wise, and interesting.
